Champaign County NAACP President speaks on Consent Decree

Champaign County NAACP President, Rev. Jerome Chamber recently wrote a position paper concerning the recent aftermath of the Consent Decree decision.  The paper was published in the News-Gazette on September 20, 2009.  You can read a copy of the letter here.

MSNBC to air panel discssion featuring Bill Cosby and NAACP President

MSNBC will telecast “About Our Children,” a live event featuring Bill Cosby, moderated by Independent Women’s Forum president and MSNBC political analyst Michelle Bernard, Sunday, Sept. 20, 7-9 p.m ET. Cosby, along with panelists including Ben Jealous, President of the NAACP, Terrie Williams, author of “Black Pain” and Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers and will discuss poverty in America, focusing on the parenting, education and health issues facing the poor in the United States, in front of a live audience at Howard University in Washington, DC.

NAACP Champaign Meeting for 04/02/09 Cancelled

The NAACP Meeting for 04/02/09 has been canceled. Brother Cornell West will be on campus at the same time as the scheduled meeting and we want all members to have the opportunity to attend. The NAACP monthly meeting has been rescheduled for next week at the same time. The location is TBD.
