On August 7, 2015, to a standing room only crowd, the library at Booker T. Washington STEM Academy was dedicated to Dorothy Vickers-Shelley. The dedication program speakers included:

  • Dr. Preston Williams, Retired Superintendent of Urbana School District 116
  • Imani Bazzell, Community Advocate from SisterNet
  • Dana Vickers-Shelly, Daughter of Dorothy Vickers Shelley
