The Champaign County NAACP, CU Citizens for Peace and Justice, National Council of African American Men, Citizens with Convictions, NorthEnd Breakfast Club, Sisternet, Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (ICHV), AON, CCAD, along with many other concerned citizens, will join the National Social Justice movement lead by the National Action Network on Saturday, July 20th (tomorrow) to march for Justice for Trayvon Martin, civil rights, equality, and the end of institutional racism and discrimination perpetrated against people of color.

If you won’t be able to join us in Champaign, check out the link to find rallies in your community OR TO PLAN YOUR OWN: http://nationalactionnetwork.net/events/563/justice-for-trayvon-national-day-of-action-vigils-in-100-cities/

In Champaign county, we will assemble at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Luther King Park in Urbana. From there, we will march to the Urbana Federal Courthouse where a rally will be held from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. Check out the following link to map the route for yourselves: Google Maps

The speakers will address a numbers of local and state issues and also add their voices to the national call to the DOJ to file civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.

We invite the public to join us in our stand for social justice on Saturday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. at MLK Park in Urbana.

Just a few reminders for as you prepare to join us:

1.) Check the weather reports and dress appropriately for individual comfort, health needs, and bring any toiletries, medications, hats, sunscreen/bugspray, snacks/non-alcoholic beverages (please), and personal items that you will need for yourself and family members.

2.) We are asking that—if possible— individuals wear black, white or grey garments of their choice.

3.) Please park your car at a location that will be most convenient for you to participate in the march. Remember, you will have to find your way back to your vehicle/transportation after the march so select a location that will serve you best after the march concludes.

Use this as an opportunity to invite your children and teens to get involved, share their thoughts and concerns, make signs, banners, etc.,. that express their ideas as well.

***If you cannot join us, please pray for us as we gather to march PEACEFULLY to show our support for the Martin family and give voice to our concerns about injustices occuring across our nation.

Thank you in advance for your support, PLEASE MARCH FOR JUSTICE WHEREVER YOU ARE ON SATURDAY and have great evenings!
